But what if you suddenly can’t do that anymore?

Then you gotta do what you can, and you work with what you’ve got.

In this collection of recent paintings and collages, Cassius Fouler has graffiti on the brain, and the work provides a glimpse into the nature of creative compulsion as well as the increasingly hazy line between graffiti and fine art.

Friday, January 25th we invite you to join us in New York City for a special release of the fifth issue of SGU art paper titled #BLACKOUT.

The #Blackout of 2012 lasted several weeks for some of New York City's residents. Many parts of Manhattan below 34th Street were in complete darkness for over a week. This was unprecedented and for this reason we dedicated the fifth issue of SGU to the #Blackout of 2012. The issue is filled with photographs of New York City taken during the nights and days of the Blackout. Printed in black and white on 50lb super bright newsprint in Edition of 1000.
