New weapon to fight graffiti vandals

The writing is on the wall in Glastonbury – but not for much
longer.
There are plans for the town's walls to be repainted using anti-graffiti
paint, meaning that in the future, vandalism can be simply washed off.
The paint will be used throughout the town, particularly in the alleyways
leading to the High Street from St John's car park, where graffiti has been a
big problem.

Fairey could face jail for Boston graffiti

Shepard Fairey could face jail time for his, ahem, alleged graffiti in Boston
after a Municipal Court judge
decided yesterday that the vandalism charges against him could be treated as
felonies instead of misdemeanors.
The Los Angeles artist, whose work is

Sparks graffiti vandal ordered to pay $13,000 restitution for 56 acts in
Reno
April 10, 2009 A Sparks man has been ordered to pay $13,000
restitution for a gross misdemeanor count of graffiti vandalism and was given a
suspended one-year jail sentence and put on probation for up to three
years. The Reno Police Department urges the public to help
crack down on graffiti by reporting it when they see and by reporting the

A VANDAL has been sentenced to 240 hours' community service after causing thousands of pounds worth of graffiti damage.
S**** M*****, 20, of Millburn Road, Dumbarton, had earlier pleaded
guilty to fifteen vandalism offences at the town's Sheriff Court.

Oxnard officer stuns graffiti suspect with Taser

An Oxnard police officer shocked a suspected graffiti vandal with a Taser this week following a short pursuit, authorities said.

Watsonville sweep nets 37 graffiti vandals

WATSONVILLE, Calif.—Dozens of suspected graffiti vandals have been arrested by Watsonville police using new aerosol sensing devices and informants.
Fifteen adults and 22 juveniles are now facing 885 counts of vandalism that cost an estimated $50,000 in property damage.

Watsonville Community and Police Say No to Graffiti
WATSONVILLE, Calif.- People who live and work in Watsonville say they have had enough of the graffiti, and police listened.
