If approved the penalty for a first offense for an act of graffiti or possession of graffiti instruments would be a fine between 500 to 1000 dollars plus repair of the damages to the property.

A second offense for either would result in the fine being doubled.

Fines would also include community service with a minimum or 100 hours.

A final decision will be made on April 27th

On April 1st Newark police made two arrests in connection with graffiti vandalism in Newark and are continuing their search.
