Convicted graffiti artist falls to his death as he's spray painting on the side of a freeway bridge

Friends and family gathered yesterday to remember a graffiti artist who fell to his death whilst spray painting his tag.

22-year-old Andre Petkov from North Highlands near Sacramento fell off an overpass along Interstate 80 overpass while daubing graffiti on the bridge.

Investigators say his body had been there for a couple of days before it was found by a street sweeper.

A YOUNG teenage boy attempting to graffiti a Southern Expressway bridge in Adelaide's south-west has fallen to his death early this morning.

It is understood the youth slipped from a narrow ledge on the side of the bridge, falling on rocks in Christies Creek below.

An unidentified graffiti artist was killed around 5 a.m. this morning by a D train at the N/R station at 59th Street in Brooklyn. Police have not yet released the 20-year-old victim's name, but sources tell the Daily News he was walking on the tracks when he was hit by the Manhattan-bound train. — The driver of the SUV that struck and killed graffitist Jonathan Corso on his 21st birthday told police, "They tried to rob me so I ran him over," according to a search warrant filed in Broward Circuit Court.

Rammellzee, an early graffiti writer, hip-hop pioneer and performance artist whose style influenced the Beastie Boys and Cypress Hill, died Sunday in Far Rockaway, Queens, where he was raised. He lived in Battery Park City in Manhattan.

He was 49 and died after a long illness, said his wife, Carmela Zagari Rammellzee.
